Hua Hin Fishing Seasons: What Bites When

2026-04-12 · 6 min

The Gulf of Thailand has two distinct fishing seasons. The dry season — November through April — brings cooler water and the sailfish migration. The wet season — May through October — opens up the deep blue for tuna, mahi-mahi and the chance of marlin further offshore.

Sailfish are the marquee fish of Hua Hin's dry season. Targeted on trolled lures and live bait, they show up consistently from January through March. Most of our sailfish hookups come on the full-day offshore trip, three to five hours from the pier.

From May the warm currents push pelagics into our zone. Mahi-mahi appear around floating debris and current lines. Yellowfin tuna run with the bait schools. Wreck fishing for grouper, snapper and cobia stays consistent year round.

If you have a target species in mind, message us on WhatsApp before you book — we'll tell you honestly what's biting that week and which trip to choose.
